How to check for head lice removal


The head lice are the wingless insects which can be seen with the naked eye. Their length is about 2-3 millimeter, and hey are black or brown in color. Their eggs which are commonly known as nits are often being mistaken by the dandruff. The nits are strongly attached to the hair with a waterproof substance. They are normally be known in three forms; nits, young lice and adult lice. 

Head lice are highly infectious and they can be transferred from person to person easily.  The most common symptoms of a lice infestation includes the itching and scalp bothersome. When an adult louse crawls around the scalp, an infested person can feel the tickling sensation over its head. You can check your hair for head lice by yourself as well by a simple procedure.
Moreover, if you are infested by the head lice during checking you are more likely to be seen nits other than live lice. While checking for the head lice you will need to follow the below mentioned instructions. 




Sit under the light or position your hair where they can directly facing the light. The sunlight is the best option, sit somewhere near the window under the direct sunlight. Do not sit when the fans are on. Slow down the fan or you could turn it off completely. Always start from the nape of the neck, by parting the hair carefully. 
  
Always starts with the roots of the hair, if you have found some yellow, brown or tan dots, they are the nits. If there is something looking like a dandruff, they are the shells of the hatched nit eggs. Now look for the nymphs and adult lice, they normally look like smaller spots which are grayish white or tan in color.  

Now you need to move up the head while parting the hair into smaller sections, and check for lice and nits. Behind the ears you can find most of the head louse. You need to be more consistent about checking your head for lice, if you find yourself in contact with an infested person every day.

While checking your head for head lice removal, you will be needing a rat tail comb which is often used as the checking for head lice. You will be needing a magnifying glass as well for the examine the head more closely. 




 Light is the most important tool for examining the head louse. You cannot see a head louse in dim light as they are tiny insects widely covered under your hair and really much attached to the scalp.

If the person is infested with a head louse in the family, for the head lice removal and prevention should be taken place while separating his/her towels, bed linens and clothes. Avoid using hates of the infested person. Lice do do not survive anywhere other than a human head. Nits and lice can also be killed in the hot water of at least 140 degree F.
